Sad news from our neighbour …and a new cat in town

A while ago I posted about our neighbour’s cat Elise who has gone missing. I recently met my neighbour and she told me that she found out that Elise got run over. It’s very upsetting because it took the vet three days to finally contact her. She was able to collect, cremate and bury her. It’s really annoying how fast and thoughtless people drive in our neighbourhood – especially down the side streets and lanes. If I was the woman who ran poor Elise over I’d have a really bad conscience.

We miss Elise – I will never forget the morning when I looked out of our bedroom window and stared into her face. She was very good at climbing up our conservatory roof.

Even Bobby seems to miss her bit and was looking for her for a while.

Now we have a new kitten in the neighbourhood and he is as cute as he is daft. Bobby is not a fan, but he always seeks her out. Unfortunately his owners don’t seem to care much about him –he is only about 5-6 months old, but they let him roam at night. Last week he wouldn’t want to leave us and it was raining. In the end we found out where he lived but the lights were out and in the end hubby released him from the carrier (and he didn’t like being in there at all). Hopefully he won’t come around so much now. He is very cute though. I also hope his owners will neuter him soon so he doesn’t get aggressive and start to be a pain in the bum for the rest of the neighbourhood.

That’s sad to hear about the neighbour’s cat. Have you met Mad Max the large black and white cat who’s always out of doors? He’s spending nights indoors now that Don has taken him in because of the cold though he goes outside in the morning. Don’s been complaining how wild he is as he’s not used to being indoors but he couldn’t be left outside on freezing cold nights. I would have taken him in if it wasn’t for the birds when I saw huddled up by my shed last January at 1 am.

I’ve noticed the cars driving fast when there isn’t the traffic jam. The snow and ice has kept many motorists off the road so last week I witnessed another car crash only this time nobody was hurt fortunately.
