Happy New Year

copyright Helen White 2010

In the run up to our departure we were not even sure if we should drive through the snow all the way from Cardiff to Stansted to get the plane to Cologne. It was snowing heavily in the morning, but we decided to go anyway, because our flight was not cancelled. We just got through the worst, if we’d set off an hour later and we would have been caught in massive traffic jams and possibly an accident.

Cats and Snow

It’s snowing and the country is in panic mode. I really don’t get it. It snows every winter – so by now everyone should be kind of – well prepared. In Germany when it snows and you want to use your car by law you have to have winter tyres. Anyway the news is full of snow features, but what about our furry friends – in my case – our cat?

A new cat in the hood – and he is a bit of a pain..

Our cat is a tad stressed at the moment due to an uninvited visitor. He’s a gorgeous, very skinny tabby with white paws and friendly to us, but wants to take over not only Bobby’s garden, but also her food. Understandable as he is really emaciated and obviously not that well cared for by his …

Please adopt a cat if you want to live with one..

A Catty Christmas

Dusty's paw marks in the snow © Paul White 2009

Sad news from our neighbour …and a new cat in town

A while ago I posted about our neighbour’s cat Elise who has gone missing. I recently met my neighbour and she told me that she found out that Elise got run over. It’s very upsetting because it took the vet three days to finally contact her. She was able to collect, cremate and bury her. It’s …

When other people’s cats go missing..

It can be just as upsetting. Since Sunday last week our neighbour’s cat Elise has been missing. Now Elise was not a cat who was very friendly to humans and she liked to invade Bobby’s territory. We are also pretty sure she bullied Bobby, who is a very gentle and placid cat. But Elise was …

A friend for Bobby?

Bobby on climber - © Helen White 2009

A few weeks ago I have written about a little black and white cat, which ended up in our living room (How Bobby changed her colours). Yesterday evening I finally met this cat. She is very pretty, small and can’t be older than a year. She has white socks and belly and a black head …
